ABOUT
Ever since I can remember, I've been doodling. Constantly scratching out little sketches of characters and assorted other drawings while I was supposed to be writing down my school notes. I decided to make a living out of this doodling when I went to Art School at the University of Illinois at Chicago, graduating with a BA in Animation, Film and Electronic Media in 1993. I concentrated mostly on the Animation part of the three, culminating in my animated short, Volcano Head's Little Trick, being shown at the 1993 Swell Pictures Video Playhouse film festival and on WTTW's Image Union. Unfortunately, having a film in a festival did not guarantee a job in the animation industry. So I went to work at a print shop. After working there for a few years, I got in on the ground floor (Employee Number 157) of a new company called DoubleClick and was to retire a millionaire at age 30. Then the internet bubble burst and I survived eight layoffs while DoubleClick sold the division I worked for to it's closest competitor and we became MaxWorldwide, which soon became a subdivision of iWon/Excite when they bought the company, changing MaxWorldwide to the less worldly MaxOnline. Quickly after that, iWon/Excite was bought by AskJeeves.com, which truncated the company name to Ask.com and then was soon bought by IAC Advertising. (Confusing, ain't it?) All of this occurring while I sat at the same desk. During this time, I worked on my graphic design chops for the DoubleClick Chicago office, the MaxOnline site, and a number of Chicago bars and musicians. These side projects soon became bigger and bigger and more professional by the job and I now find myself more than capable in many areas of the design field and ready to use my knowledge and experience to help you in whatever need you may have. |
